Transportation

We provide transportation to non-urgent appointments, including visits to the Doctor, Dentist, Physiotherapy, blood work and day surgeries and procedures.  Our kind and caring volunteers ensure you arrive to your appointment on time and safely home after.  The fees for transportation are based on distance from your home to the location of your appointment.  Clients must be registered ahead and provide 7 days notice for requests.  This program is open to all seniors and adults with disabilities who live in the Olde Forge catchment area. For a description of the catchment area, see the Olde Forge Catchment Area page which can be found in the About Us menu item.

Shopping Van Program

The Olde Forge van takes registered clients shopping to help them maintain their independence. Contact the Olde Forge if you wish to register for the program or reserve your spot on any particular trip. Please contact Christie at 613-829-9777 extension 231 or email her at c.may@oldeforge.ca. The fee for the van service is $6.00 and our drivers do not accept tips.

Clients may bring up to four shopping bags with them on the return trip in the van. Arrangements can be made to have the store deliver any additional bags.

Grocery Bus

Our free Grocery Bus travels every other Thursday to Metro in Bells Corners.  The program serves clients living in high-rise apartment buildings within our catchment area.  Staff and volunteers assist on the bus and in the store, with grocery shopping and handling grocery bags.  Delivery is available at the store for large orders.
